This decoration was awarded in recognition of the recipient’s operational service during World War II (1939-1945) between December 8, 1941 and August 15, 1945.
Obverse:
Six-pointed star with the monogram of King George VI in its center ( GRI : Georgius Rex Imperator / George King and Emperor) , surmounted by the royal crown , and surrounded by the legend: THE PACIFIC STAR .
Reverse:
Virgin without attribution.
Ribbon :
The ribbon is said to have been created by George VI. The jungle is represented by dark green , the beaches by yellow . The Royal Navy (and Merchant Navy), Army, and Royal Air Force are represented by dark blue , red , and pale blue stripes.
