Biography (wikipedia): Hans Holbein the Younger, born in Augsburg, Bavaria, around 1497 and died in London in 1543, is a painter and engraver of the Northern Renaissance. One of his best-known works is The Ambassadors, painted in 1533 and representing two envoys, one of the nobility, the other of the clergy. He particularly excelled in portraits, such as that of the King of England Henry VIII.
