Georges Étienne (1866-1935), born in Saint-Dié des Vosges, completed his medical studies in Nancy where he quickly rose through the ranks. He was awarded the title of associate professor in 1895 and became a professor of pathology and clinical medicine before the First World War. His scientific contributions covered various fields such as infectious diseases, neurology and endocrinology. Recognized for his qualities as a practitioner and his attention to patients, he was able to promote a multidisciplinary approach that left its mark on his era.
