History (source Wikipedia): Albert Caquot was considered “the greatest living French engineer” for half a century.
He was a Croix de Guerre 1914-1918, member of the Academy of Sciences (1934-1976), Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor (1951) and holder of numerous foreign decorations (notably DSO and Order of Saint-Michel and George St. George and United States Distinguished Service Medal).
Endowed with a fertile and varied faculty of invention, his mechanical and visionary genius applies both to emerging aeronautical construction and to the creation of reinforced concrete structures, with more than three hundred bridges and dams of all types. several of which were world records, and the most varied works of civil engineering.
