This British decoration is awarded to Commonwealth and foreign service personnel serving in British uniform in recognition of at least one day’s service in France, Belgium, the Netherlands or Germany between 6 June 1944 and 8 May 1945.
Obverse:
Six-pointed star with the monogram of King George VI in its center ( GRI : Georgius Rex Imperator / George King and Emperor) , surmounted by the royal crown , and surrounded by the legend: THE FRANCE AND GERMANY STAR .

Ribbon :
The ribbon is composed of equal-width stripes of blue, white, red, white and blue representing the colours of the United Kingdom, France and the Netherlands.
