Biography :
Georges Hubert Lemarchand (1869 – 1950) was:
- Member of the Old Paris Commission from 1929.
- Technical agent for works for the City of Paris.
- Municipal councilor of the 4th arrondissement of Paris (Notre-Dame district) from 1908 to 1941.
- President of the Paris City Council from 1928 to 1929
- General Councilor of the Seine.
- Knight of the Legion of Honour.
He wrote several works, including:
- the Study on labor laws (by G. Lemarchand, venerable) which he presented, on behalf of the Union socialiste lodge of the Grand Orient of France (1904),
- Report on the reconstruction of the morgue and the creation of a forensic institute (1908),
- The Post-War Period and Economic Victory. The Port of Paris and its Commercial Tributaries (1916)
- The water we drink in Paris (1931).
