Three-quarter profile bust to the left of Domenico di Tommaso Curradi di Doffo Bigordi, commonly called Domenico Bigordi dit Domenico Ghirlandaio, Florentine painter, protagonist of the Renaissance.
He left his mark on his era with his great cycles of frescoes, notably in the Sassetti Chapel and the Tornabuoni Chapel in Florence, and with certain scenes in the Sistine Chapel in Rome. Domenico is part of the so-called “third generation” of the Florentine Renaissance, with masters such as Andrea del Verrocchio, the Pollaiolo brothers (Antonio and Piero) and Sandro Botticelli.
