Admiral Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais (born in 1699 in Saint-Malo) from the front, decorated with the Knight’s Cross of the Royal and Military Order of Saint-Louis. Behind him, on either side of the sea, a three-master and the coat of arms of the Mahé family composed of an escutcheon “Silver with two battle axes backed Gules surmounted by a crescent of the same.” surmounted by the helmet of the gentlemen, surrounded by a ribbon bearing the inscription in Breton: DRE AN MOR BISKOUAS TROUBARDIAS NA REAS.
