The Paris Medico-Practical Society was founded in 1808 and became the Paris Medico-Surgical Society in 1892.
Obverse:
Altar decorated with the staff of Aesculapius , surmounted by a kantharos . On the left, a horse skeleton and an incense burner . On the right, a rooster on books .
On the exergue, inscription in Latin:
LIFE SHORT,
ARS LONGA.
