Biography :

Albert Pitres (1848-1928) was a French neurologist. He received his training in Paris where he was a student of Charcot and Dejerine. He was dean of the Faculty of Medicine in Bordeaux.
His name remained a sign of pleural effusion and a sign of tabes.
Anecdote:
The engraver Paul Richer (1849-1933) also happened to be a neurologist and student of Charcot, as well as a medallist, and one can imagine that the two men knew each other well.
