Biography :
Charles MATTEI (1889 Bastia – 1973 Marseille), French doctor from Capicorsu (Barrettali). Doctor of medicine in Montpellier in 1914. Hospital doctor in 1920. He was in charge of pathological anatomy courses until 1926. Holder of the chair of therapeutics in 1928. Holder of the chair of medical clinic from 1935 to 1961. In 1945, he was in charge of experimenting with penicillin
– National Academy of Medicine, elected national correspondent for the medicine division on June 12, 1945. Elected non-resident member on June 5, 1962.
– Officer of the Legion of Honor. Commander of the Order of Saint Gregory the Great. Officer of the Academic Palms.
