Six-pointed star with the monogram of King George VI in its center ( GRI : Georgius Rex Imperator / George King and Emperor) , surmounted by the royal crown , and surrounded by the legend: THE 1939-1945 STAR .

The ribbon is composed of three stripes of equal width, dark blue , red and light blue , which represent respectively the Navy (NAVY), the Army (ARMY) and the Air Force (RAF).
